Well, its clearly some coaching and some bad luck, but a pretty good defense about has "half a hundert" hung on it yet again. Tanneyhill was indeed Dan Marino last night as the Dolphins roll vs the Pack. Packers now clearly out of playoff contention, can be a spoiler I suppose. Here is a recap of some of the QB performances we've faced this year in our 5W-7L campaign thus far
Tanneyhill 25-for-28-for-386 158.3
Rivers 24-for-29-for-247 113.6
L Jackson 15-for-23-for-189 105.2 his scrambling for 87 crushed us
Mahomes 19-for-29-for-213 121.8 his scrambling killed us
Carr 32-for-48-for-337 100.8
Rivers 30-for-44-for-427 114.5
Dalton 20-for-34-for-300 107.5
Minshew 28-for-40-for-320 110.4 his scrambling ate us alive
QBs have loved to overachieve vs us
We thought we had a pass rush. Nope.
We thought having four 7-rated CBs made us above average. Doesnt appear so
51 v Run 32 v Pass 15 Pass Rush in the standard 4-3
Thru 12 games we allow 105.7 on the ground, 264 thru the air, for a total of 369.7 yards allowed on average. The scoring allowed of 23 puts us middle of the pack, but all the yards alllowed equate to time of possession and really sucks for us. Only 6 teams allow more than 369 yards a game
And it doesnt seem to reciprocate with Dak putting up 262-448-for-2936 thus far, a 88.7 rating, good for 24th in the league. Lets see - how many teams in PAFL? 28 Thats pretty bad for a $11 million dollar salary guy.
Like I said, its a heavy dose of bad coaching, play calls, matchups, etc...but there is plain and simply plenty of bad luck to go around too. The dice have not been kind to the Pack
