They say you never want to follow in the footsteps of a legend. I find myself in just that position as I've been asked to take over Jim's weekly column. Hopefully I'll be able to do it justice. Without further adieu......
Jim's Picks of the Week
Bengals vs. Cardinals:
The bengals are playing good ball to start this season, but so are the Cards after a big win over their NFC west rival Niners. Bengals are 7th in total offense and the Cards are 9th. Cards are 9th in total D while the Bengals are 21st. Mario Maningham is questionable for the Cards. The stats say go with the Cards so thats what I'm gonna do.
Patriots vs. Bills:
The Pat's would have had a much better chance of going into this game undefeated but he had me sub for him against the Steelers with the predictable result of a loss. The Bills are the defending AFC champs with a 1-1 record. What do the stats say...The Bills have the more potent offense at 5th overall. The Pat's sit at 14th. On the defensive side, the Bills are 31st overall while the Pat's sit at 16th. The Bill's might score some points but they also give more up and the Pat's are solidily in the middle. If the Pat's can slow down the Bill's ground attack they should win.
Seahawks vs Cowboys:
The Cowboys are 3-0 on the season. The price of ice skates in hell just tripled. The seahawks are 0-3. One would think this should be a walk for the Cowboys and it might just be...Dallas is 10th in total offense and total defense while the Seahawks are 18th in O and dead last in D. Something tells me that the Seahawks are going to get off the snide and win this game. Call me crazy, I've been called worse.
That'll do it for this week. Next week we'll shoot for 5 games and do a Quarter season review of each division.
