Green Bay wins nail biter at home over Carolina 27-24
Green Bay upped their record to 3-2 with an exciting 27-24 victory with a Gano 42 yard FG as time expired in OT.
Carolina jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter.
Packers QB Dak Prescott would hit rookie TE Pitts for a 39 yard TD to cut the lead to 10-7 midway through the 2nd quarter.
The teams would exchange FG’s to end the 1st half 13-10 Carolina.
The Pack would take the kickoff for the 2nd half and go 96 yards in 8 plays as Prescptt hit WR Parker from 44 yards out to give GB the lead 17-13 and end the scoring in the 3rd quarter.
The 4th quarter started with Carolina deep in their own territory when Packers DB Adebo stepped in front of a Mahomes pass and picked it clean for a pick-6 and a 24-13 lead with 11 minutes to play.
Mahomes wasn’t rattled however as he took the Panthers 68 yards in just 5 plays as D. Foreman took a handoff around the end for a 12 yard TD and with the Wilson run for PAT the Panthers were down 3 with just under 8 minutes remaining.
The Panthers Defense forced a 3 and out and had the ball back with 5:35 to go.
Mahomes would move the ball down field and go to the red zone before they had to kick the game tying FG with 1:23 to go.
Green Bay would gain one first down but were forced to punt and regulation ended with a 24-24 tie.
The Pack won the toss and elected to receive to OT kick but after gaining a few 1st downs they were forced to punt.
Carolina would not be able to move the ball and punted after a 3 and out.
The Green Bay offense started to find their groove as they engineered a 15 play drive down to the Panther 24 yard line before Gano would connect on a 42 yard FG as the final seconds expired in OT for the 27-24 victory.
