I doubt you'd find it surprising that it is easy to find people wanting to take over Detroit. I also doubt that you'd be surprised if I said trying to fill Seattle is a whole another story.
This is a common issues in leagues, i.e., how to find a good owner willing to take the challenge of rebuilding a team that is in need of an overhaul? This brings to mind Brendan who willingly took over the former Saints mess (and I mean a real mess based on 3 lacking owners in a row if not 4) and has them on the right track. This is why when some are handing out accolades for best owners in the PAFL, Brendan is at the top of my list. Even our former owner Hank deserves mention as he took over a weak Charger team and improved them over a 2 year period. Of course it is hard to find owners like this.
How then will we proceed? If we can't find the right type owner for Seattle, do they just stayed league operated for another year until they get their footing? My thinking is this is a definite option. I don't want to repeat the cycle which happened with the former Saints squad.
Do we provide an incentive for someone taking on rebuilding Seattle? I have a prospective owner who asked me if there are any concessions available for taking over this Project? My initial answer was there are non per se. The problem with handing out concessions is - is this fair to others who rolled up their sleeves and did the work of rebuilding? About the best concession I would consider giving is providing this owner with a chance of switching to a future open team. But this idea would have to also include others in the PAFL which makes it a possible messy solution.
All in all, I just wanted to air a few things about filling Seattle.
