Week 4 Wrap-Up: Unbeaten Clubs Rule, Miami Spirals, and One RB Just Cooked an Entire Defense
A perfect week for the perfect teams — and a perfectly awful one for a few others.
The Big Picture
Four weeks in and the PFL is already separating the contenders from the pretenders — and from the outright disasters. Four teams remain unbeaten: the Los Angeles Chargers (4-0), Indianapolis Colts (4-0), Jacksonville Jaguars (4-0), and the Arizona Cardinals (4-0). On the other end of the ledger, the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and the Los Angeles Rams are a combined 0-16. The Rams, despite fielding what the data says is a decent enough roster, have been absolutely steamrolled in every contest. Their QB Fernando Mendoza is posting a 47.83 passer rating. For context, that's not a rating — that's a cry for help.
Meanwhile, the Chargers capped their perfect four-week run with a Game of the Week victory over the crosstown Rams, extending their divisional dominance while the Rams lose bragging rights to a team that literally has the same city name. The AFC West is the Chargers' to lose right now, with Las Vegas (1-2) and Kansas City (1-3) both looking very much like they forgot to show up to training camp.

AFC Defensive POW
Henry To'oTo'o, HOU

Jonathan Taylor's week was something that belongs in a highlight reel and an NFT simultaneously. The man had nine carries for 187 yards — that's nearly 21 yards per attempt. He also caught a couple passes for good measure, because apparently one dimension of domination wasn't enough. If your fantasy team doesn't have JT on it, you are losing and it is your fault.
Over in the NFC, Budda Baker did everything. Two sacks, two forced fumbles recovered, and a touchdown — from the safety position. Baker is essentially running the Cardinals' defense as a one-man chaos machine. Arizona remains undefeated, and it's starting to look very intentional.

Cam Ward is the PFL's passing yards leader at 1,508, completing 72% of his throws and sitting on 12 touchdowns against just 2 interceptions. The Titans QB is playing like a man who read the rulebook and decided he personally disagrees with the concept of incompletions. His 117 passer rating when things are clicking is genuinely scary — and opposing defenses haven't found an answer yet.
Kyler Murray, however, has the most touchdowns among passers with 15, and his Cardinals are the NFC's only 4-0 team. Murray's 75% completion rate and 132 passer rating make him arguably the most efficient QB in the league right now. The Arizona offense is a nightmare to stop: Murray throwing dimes, MHJ averaging 23 yards per catch and already at 7 receiving TDs, and Budda Baker cleaning up on defense. This team is built different.
Kenneth Walker III is quietly putting together an absurd rushing season — 586 yards on 7.42 per carry is "give this man more carries immediately" territory. Bijan Robinson leads all backs in touchdowns (6 rushing), but it's Walker who's making defenders look like traffic cones. Omarion Hampton represents the Chargers' ground game engine and is doing his part to keep LA unbeaten.
One cautionary tale: Brock Purdy leads the league in interceptions (9) through four games. The 49ers sit at 2-2 and Purdy's 51 passer rating in clutch moments is not exactly inspiring. San Francisco has the talent, including a 96% catch-rate Brandon Aiyuk, but the turnovers are a slow-motion crisis that needs addressing before the wheels fully come off.

The AFC South is a fascinating mess of chaos: both Indianapolis and Jacksonville are 4-0, which means they are going to crash into each other at some point and one perfect record is going to explode dramatically. Tennessee at 3-1 makes this the best division in football top-to-bottom — and someone has to miss the playoffs. Houston at 1-2 is the loser so far, which is a shame because Henry To'oTo'o just won Defensive Player of the Week. Life is not fair.
In the AFC East, the Jets are undefeated at 3-0, which would have been unthinkable to say without immediately following it with a punchline a few years ago. Justin Fields has been competent (747 yards, 6 TDs), the defense is holding, and for once the Jets are the team making other teams miserable. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 0-4. Tua is posting a 48 passer rating and a 16-sack count. Miami fans, we see you. It's okay to look away.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are 1-3. Let that marinate. The dynasty may be experiencing some turbulence. Mahomes has 10 touchdowns — but also 6 interceptions, which is not the usual Chiefs operating procedure. Kansas City's OVR sits at 88 (the highest in the league alongside Green Bay and Chicago), which makes this more baffling. The talent is clearly there. The execution, through four weeks, is not.
Defensive Standouts
Micah Parsons, now with Green Bay, leads all defenders with 8.5 sacks through four games. If you're an offensive lineman on Green Bay's schedule, this is the part where you write your will. Jaelan Phillips (ARI) is right behind with 9.5 sacks — two Cardinals defenders in the top tier of the pass rush charts helps explain why Arizona remains perfect. Oluwafemi Oladejo (TEN) has 8.0 sacks and is getting zero national credit for it. Cam Ward might be putting up numbers, but the Titans have quietly built an elite defense on the other side too.
Minkah Fitzpatrick (Miami, somehow still playing for a 0-4 team) leads all players with 30 tackles. He is doing yeoman's work on a ship that is fully underwater. Nick Bosa (SF) has 9 sacks and Landon Barton (SEA) leads linebackers with 21 tackles, a pick, and 255 return yards. The Seahawks' defense is stout enough to carry a team through 3-1 despite a Sam Darnold QB situation that has produced a 24.34 passer rating. Yes, you read that correctly.
Week 5 Predictions
Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Two 4-0 teams, one division, zero mercy. JT vs. Trevor Lawrence. The Colts have the higher OVR (85 vs 83) and the better ground game — edge Colts in a thriller, 27-24.
Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks
The Cardinals are the NFC's last perfect team. Murray + MHJ vs. Seattle's stingy defense. Baker will cause a turnover. Arizona stays unbeaten, 31-20.
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs
Chargers are 4-0. Chiefs are 1-3 with a banged-up psyche. Mahomes will make it interesting but LAC wins again, 28-21. Someone buy KC a hype man.
Tennessee Titans vs Baltimore Ravens
Cam Ward vs. Lamar Jackson — two mobile dual-threat QBs with strong defenses. Ravens have the highest OVR in the AFC (89) but Titans have the edge in passing efficiency. Call it 24-21 Titans.
Miami Dolphins vs Anyone
Miami is 0-4 with a 27M cap in space and a QB posting a 75.9 passer rating. The Dolphins lose again. We don't make the rules, we just report the chaos.
