Time to hit the road |
Vikings lose first 2 games at home. They have been flagged for 15 penalites while only having their opponents flagged twice. Tampa Bay has been airing it out with Carr averaging 46 passes per game. If he keeps this pace up he would approach 800 attempts for the year. Bucs have not been able to run the ball well so far. Vikings allowing 73% pass completions. Better bring extra ice for Mr. Carr. On the road again |
Titans have their 3rd straight game on the road to begin the season. For the second week they face a divisional foe. Interesting facts on the Titans. Through 2 games they have not had a turnover. They also have not forced a turnover. Dolphins play their first home game after an 0 - 2 road trip. Miami also has not forced a turnover. Teams look evenly matched. TEN 20 MIA 31 |

Sweet home Carolina |
Panthers are at the other extreme compared to the Titans as they have home cookin for the 3rd straight week. Carolina came up just short against the powerful Rams last week. Patriots ran into the Bengals buzz saw last week. Even though both of these teams is 1 - 1, it appears the Panthers are more likely to make a playoff push as the NFC Central does not have a dominant team which the AFC East does. I'm still a fan of Minshew and this game has a possibility of a Panther letdown after last weeks' tough loss. NE 27 CAR 24 |

I love LA? |
Cowboys visited the other LA team last week and the wheels, uh I mean the horseshoes fell off, uh rather they were blown off at high voltage. Dallas had no answer for Herbert who was flawless. The NFC team from LA is another formidable challenge. The Rams are not as electrifying on offense as the Chargers but have a better defense. I guess this game comes down to Dak. If Dak can rebound, Dallas should be back in the saddle. DAL 27 LAR 20 |

49ers strike gold |
While all indications were that San Fran would be struggling mightily, Shawn has the 49ers sitting atop the NFC West. Of course this is not likely to be the case come the end of the season. But for now San Fran should enjoy the rarefied air. Saints fell flat against division rival Bears. Trevor tossed 2 Ints. Both of these teams are not used to be in first place in their division. The password is "Patience" |
A contest between two highly valued owners who took over trainwrecks and are slowly getting them back on track. Jacksonville looking for first win with their very young squad. Bryce is playing decently in spurts but needs to protect the ball better. Baker off to a slow start for the Texans and has been under duress. Maybe this week Baker's play improves against the Jaguar secondary. JAX 13 HOU 21 |

A battle amongst associates |
The Lions lost the rebuilding bowl to the 49ers last week. Detroit has struggled putting points on the board so far. Seahawks know they are prohibitive favorites and are resting Burrow. Seattle has more talent on both sides of the ball. Still if Jimmy G is more worried about his photo ops, the Lions could pull off the win. SEA 16 DET 13 |

Has the power returned |
Chargers electrified the home crowd by surging past the Cowboys. Herbert played a beautiful game against them boyz. Packers find themselves in last place in the NFC East after falling to the Commanders. They are also down 2 starting offensive lineman. With the Chiefs looming next week, this is no time for a power outage. LAC 31, GB 17

Go west young man |
With both teams 1 - 1, the winner of this game will stay in first place in the Division. The Chiefs are loaded on both sides of the ball boasting Mahomes, Kelce, Hill on offense and Chris Jones and two 9 CBs (Sneed + Ward). Raiders have nice offensive weapons La Porta, Nico Collins, Josh Jacobs. But the Las Vegas defense is not nearly as stout. Add in the fact that da Raiders best CB is injured and I feel they will have a hard time staying close in this game. KC 31 OAK 14 |

First place is on the line |
Winner of this matchup will be at the top of the NFC East. Last week for the G-men, Murray played near flawless football tossing 4 TDs. Commanders' D rose to the occasion multiple times by stopping the Packers on 4th down attempts. Giants with a very tough defense which I suspect will be the deciding factor in this matchup. By Land or by Air |
Bears came up big in a divisional game against the Saints. Fields outplayed Lawrence. Speaking of Trevor, he was sacked NINE times by Chicago. Eagles were grounded by the Giants last week. Philly is converting 67% on 3rd downs but is allowing 150 yards rushing. Can the Eagles protect Purdy? Will Fields play revert to the mean? I answer both with a yes. CHI 16 PHI 30 |

Meeting people from around the world |
One benefit of playing action is getting to chat with people who live around the world. Tony and I have had several enjoyable exchanges and I look forward to many more. This game against the Browns pits two of the top AFC teams against each other. Bengals will need a strong showing from Lamar to defeat the Browns on the road. CIN 16 CLV 28 |

Will the buffaloes roam? |
Buffalo sits at 1 - 1 and need to be alert for this game on the road. The Bills stumbled out of the gate losing to the surprising 49ers. If they lose this game they fall two behind the Colts. The undefeated Steelers are the early season surprise leaders of the AFC Central. They have been very opportunistic. Pickett has not thrown an INT. It's upto Bob to ensure that Buffalo is ready.
