Week 4 Predictions

Time to hit the road
Panthers (1-2) on the road for the first time.  Carolina has won the first quarter but has lost the 4th quarter.  Panthers have a nice running attack led by McCaffery and a respectable passing attack.  The Bills (2-1) are trying to keep pace with the Colts.  They also have won the first quarter while losing the 4th.  Bills Defense has been bearing down in the Redzone 6 TDs, 6 FGs, and nothing 7 times.  Bills are down at least 1 key defensive lineman.    BUF 27 CAR 20

On the road again
Steelers (2-1) on the road this week looking to rebound from their first loss against the Bills.   Pittsburgh's defense has only allowed 2 TDs on 8 visits to their redzone.  Their LT Braxton Jones is out.  For Baltimore (0-3), rookie Will Levis had his best game of the season last week.  Ravens best CB, rookie Christian Gonzales is also out.  Ravens first 3 games were against likely playoff teams.  This is an early season opportunity for a Baltimore win.  But as long as Zack is on the bench, I like the Steelers.  PIT 27 BAL 17

Hear the Bengals Roar
Cincinnati (3-0) went on the road and beat the preseason Super Bowl favorite.  A key part of their success is they are +8 on turnovers.  Lamar has been on a roll.  Jacksonville (0-3) came up just short against the Texans.  Jaguars are -4 on turnovers.  On paper this should not be close barring a Bengal letdown.  CIN 31 JAX 6

Air battle
Seahawks (2-1) have won 2 straight.  This in spite of being -4 in turnovers.  Stud guard Smith is out this week.  But Burrow should be back in the saddle.  Eagles (2-1) are tied for the NFC East lead.  They are +2 on turnovers.  Purdy has been awesome.  Eagles will be missing 2 offensive lineman.  SEA 34 PHI 20

Talking about going off script
Shawn had fully expected this to be a rebuilding year with very few wins.  But after a week 1 upset of Buffalo, 2 more wins followed.  Shawn picked up the phone and has acquired more firepower (Perine and Evans).  Collin's Rams though have followed the predicted script making this a matchup of undefeated teams.  Rams coming off a big road win against Dallas who is one of the best teams in the NFC.  Will be interesting to see how this game plays out.  LAR 27 SF 16

There's no place like home
Miami (1-2) got their first win last week over the Titans delighting the hometown faithful.  Offense is led by Tua.  They are -3 on turnovers having not forced a turnover all season.  Chicago (1-2) fell to the Eagles last week. Fields has a rhythm, bad game, good game, bad game, meaning he is due for a good passing game.  I'm not sure that will be enough to catch a Dolphin.  MIA 27 CHI 10

Likely playoff preview
Last week our Super Bowl favorite ran into an angry Bengal at home.  This week they take to the road and hope the Colts aren't as ferocious.  One thing Cleveland is glad about is that CJ is not the scrambler that Lamar is.  Speaking of CJ, his perfomance has improved each week.  Can the Colts keep their undefeated season alive?  Can the Super Bowl favorites drop 2 in a row?  Just say no.  CLV 27  IND 20

Return of the Titans?
Both teams are 1-2 with both on two game losing streaks.  Saints aint protecting Trevor who has absorbed 17 sacks.  Add the fact that their best offensive lineman (LT Terron Armstead) is out and all signs point to a long day for Lawrence.  For the Titans, Russell Wilson had his first bad game of the season last week.  The Titans Defense only has 1 sack this year.  I expect their sack total to at least triple this week.  TEN 31, NO 14

Do I hear 1 anybody?
With both teams are 0-3.  Green Bay has been unable to run the ball successfully averaging less than 65 yds per game.  Packers have only had 1 game which was a one possession game.  Vikings put Ryland K on the plank after shanking the game tying extra point last week.  Minnesota has explosive RB McLaughlin and can also move the ball through the air.  Minnesota will make sure this game doesn't ride on Ryland's foot.  MIN 21 GB 17

Who is in charge
Da Raiders (1-2) gave the Chiefs quite a battle last weak before losing by 7.  Ridder had a nice game.  Raiders have weapons on offense.  They will be missing 2 defensive lineman this week.  Commanders (1-2) also battled the Giants before also losing by 7.  Howell though did not have a good game.  Washington also with nice weapons on offense.  Commanders are the healthier team.  Could come down to which QB plays better. There is change in the air
Tampa Bay (2-1) had a busy week on the trade front.  Gone are Cook RB, Evans WR, and Pierce DT.  In come Henry RB and draft picks.  "Somethin aint quite right here" said GM Opheim.  Tampa Bay averaging 80 yds per game on the ground.  Detroit (0-3) continues their inaugural season under GM Sanders.  "I knew this was going to be a rebuilding season.  Fans have to trust the Process" said GM Sanders.  Lions average 130 yards passing.  If pretty boy Jimmy G can carve up the Lions, hopefully Carr can as well.  TB 27 DET 10

Game of the Week #2
Both of these AFC West rivals enter the game with 2-1 records meaning the winner will remain on top of the AFC West.  Herbert got a rest game last week and spent extra time studying the Chiefs.  He got an eyeful of great CB play.  Like the Chargers, the Chiefs stumbled out of the gate but have rebounded with 2 wins.  Chiefs are +4 on turnovers and +10 on sacks.  Chargers are -2 on turnovers and -3 on sacks.  Coach Linder has gone for it 7 times on 4th downs and made 4.  Herbert's eyes were red after all of his film study.    KC 28 LAC 20

Seeing Stars
Houston (2-1) finds themselves tied for first in the AFC West with the big boys.  Rudy has the Texans on the right path to success.  Houston averages 65 yds on the ground.  Baker has played good, then bad, then good.  Patriots (2-1) get their first home game.  Patriots -4 on turnovers.  Patriots with a stronger offensive line.  Texans with the QB advantage.  But as you know, I love Minshew mania cool   NE 24 HOU 14

What about them Boyz frown
My preseason pick from the NFC is off to a 1-2 start.  Why you may ask?  They average 70 yards on the ground and have a -3 turnover ratio.  Dak though has played oustanding.  Giants (2-1) sit at the top of the NFC East.  Deshaun Watson came in and rallied the G-men over the Commanders.  Watson or Rudolph will get the start this week with Murray out.  Should be a tough battle.  I see Bland taking an INT to the house.  DAL 20  NY 16
