AFC West - Playoff Outlook |
AFC West features 3 teams with winning records and playoff aspirations. Below is how I rank individual team's playoff chances. |

Always been the Divisional Champ |
Kansas City (8-2) has won the AFC Western Division in each of the first 3 years of the PSAFL. They have a 1-game lead over Los Angeles which is enhanced by the Chiefs having already defeated them. Kansas City have 3 tougher games left featuring the rematch against Los Angeles (7-3), Buffalo (7-3), and Dallas (7-2). Chiefs will be prohibitive favorites against Jacksonville (1-8), Washington (2-7), and Baltimore (1-8). They control their own destiny. Chiefs floor is 11 wins. |

Could this be the year? |
Los Angeles (7-3) is trying to keep pace with Kansas City. Chargers with an inspired victory over the Browns this week. Chargers has 1 tougher game left, the all important rematch against the Chiefs (8-2). Los Angeles will be 10+ point favorites against Las Vegas (3-7) twice and Jacksonville (1-8). Chargers have a floor of 10 wins. If they defeat Kansas City, they have a slightly easier schedule and could end the Chiefs reign in the Division. |

Exceeding expectations |
Houston (5-4) has played very well for coach Rudy. They have won the games they needed to to reach this point. The rest of the way is a tall order for the Texans. Texans have tough matchups against the Chargers (7-3) twice, Chiefs (8-2), and Dallas (7-2). Houston gets a bit of a breather against Jacksonville (1-8) and Green Bay (1-9). While it will be a tall order to make the playoffs, anything is possible for the Texans. |
