NFC Central - Playoff Outlook |
NFC Central with likely feature a Champion with more losses than any other Division. This division is a 2-horse race. Here is how I rank each individual team's playoff chances. |

Panthers on the prowl |
There was a time a few weeks ago where the Panthers (7-5) were trailing the Buccaneers by a couple of games. Fast forward to today and Carolina is on top of the Division. Carolina has defeated Tampa Bay with a rematch on the horizon. They have 1 very tough game remaining against NFC East powerhouse Dallas (10-2). Panthers have another key game against the 49ers (6-6) which will likely be a key game in any Wild Card tiebreakers. And of course a big game against the Buccaneers (6-6). If Carolina defeats Tampa Bay, that would likely ensure they win the Divison. A loss to the Buccaneers could possibly have them missing out on the playoffs. Carolina has a floor of 9 wins. |

Pirates going under fast |
Tampa Bay (6-6) is in the hunt for both a Divisional title and a Wild Card berth. But there is trouble on the high seas. The Buccaneers have lost 4 games in a row. Tampa Bay has tough games left against the Miami (8-4) and Carolina (7-5). Buccaneers in theory will be 10+ point favorites against the Saints (3-9) who incidently already defeated them and the Packers (1-11). The Tampa Bay ship though is taking on lots of water recently. If this trend doesn't stop soon, any thoughts of being in the playoffs will be gone at the bottom of the ocean. |
